When the good people from 5280 Solutions volunteered at the Boise warehouse on August 14, they got a completely different work experience then they were used to.
5280 Solutions is a Boise-based provider of information technology products and business automation solutions. But their job at the Foodbank was to sort and bag new potatoes – working from 2,000-pound sacks of new potatoes.
They also presented the Foodbank with a check for $2,500, enough for 7,500 meals.
The money came from the company’s community contributions fund, said Laura King, the leader of that committee.
“We picked the Foodbank because you can multiply the money so many times,” she said.
“We want to make a difference in the communities in which we live, work and play,” said Katie Cunningham, IT managing director. “Besides volunteering today, our associates also donate individually and hold food drives.”
We are very grateful for 5280’s contributions, both in the warehouse and financially. And we hope to see you all again soon.
