This holiday season, the support Albertsons and its customers have given The Idaho Foodbank and all those we serve has been exceptional. Just since October, on a variety of occasions, the company has donated $76,000, enough for 228,000 meals. And its customers, though the Turkey Bucks program, have provided another 1,600 meals. These gifts will make a very real and immediate impact on thousands of Idaho families at this important time of year.
“Albertsons has been a vital partner of the Foodbank’s for the past 30 years,” said Karen Vauk, the Foodbank’s President and CEO. “The company helped buy our first truck and helped spearhead the purchase of our Boise warehouse. The food and fund drives, the turkey drives, the food donated directly from its stores, the event sponsorships, the hundreds of volunteer hours – the list of all Albertsons has done for the Foodbank goes on and on. We are thankful for everything, and we look forward to many more years of partnership as we work together to feed hungry Idaho families.”
