As always, I had a wonderful time at the Seed Swap on Saturday. I loved the stories and the new faces, the gardening wisdom, and simply being in Edwards Greenhouse all day. The weather was less than cooperative, but such is the way of gardening! If we let some rain and colder temperatures stop us, we would never get anywhere during springtime in Idaho (or many places, for that matter).

So thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who came, including the volunteer who helped make my day go faster and was great company. It warms my heart to see so many people who are interested in local food, healthy lifestyles, the well-being of many who are less fortunate, and programs that The Idaho Foodbank offers. And thank you to Edwards for letting me use their lovely facilities. I could not do it without them!

In other news, volunteer opportunities abound. Also several of you mentioned you would have extra starts to donate. If this is the case, PLEASE contact me! I can give those starts a great home so they’re feeding people rather than a compost pile.
