Eagle Heights Gardens
Community garden on the University of Wisconsin, Madison campus in the Lakeshore Nature Preserve. Gardeners are Eagle Heights apartment complex residents, University of Wisconsin students, and Madison residents. Garden has residents from many different countries who speak about 60 different languages, and this garden is one of the largest and oldest (since 1962) gardens in the United States.

Largest community gardening program in the country. Established in 1978, the program serves 600 gardens and 20,000 people. Program provides material and technical assistance, including classes and workshops.

Community gardening program for Portland OR. Operated from Portland Parks and Recreation office. Very established system for people wanting to start community gardens, including volunteer work to organize and build gardens, help with clean-up, fundraising, and other tasks.
Santa Fe Community Gardens
Support and maintenance of community gardens through offerings of space, resources, and education. All of this is done through the support of community partnerships. Hopes to build community spaces including a greenhouse, canning center, and seed bank.
