Rick and Stephanie Dean, Co-owners of Moxie Java, presented Karen Vauk, President and CEO of The Idaho Foodbank, with a check for $7,821.60, the proceeds from the 2013 Idaho Ho Ho initiative.
Held during the 2013 holiday season, the fundraiser included the fourth Idaho Ho Ho Christmas CD as well as Moxie Java’s Idaho Ho Ho Espresso Blend.
The money raised will allow the Foodbank and its network of nonprofit partners to distribute 23,465 meals to hungry Idaho families. Over the life of the program, Idaho Ho Ho has raised enough to provide 96,000 meals.
The CD featured Idaho musicians and bands, all of whom donated their time and talents to the project. The Idaho Ho Ho CD holds the distinction of being the best-selling CD at Boise’s Record Exchange in 2013.
“Our 2013 IdaHo Ho Ho program greatly exceeded expectations,” said Ken Stokes, Vice President of Business Development for Moxie Java, “and we at Moxie Java would like to thank the many musicians, artists, individuals and businesses who generously donated their time and talents to this very worthy cause. And, of course, we offer our sincere gratitude to the residents of Idaho for their continued and enthusiastic support of this program and The Idaho Foodbank.”
“The Idaho Foodbank is very grateful to Moxie Java and the artists who collaborated on this effort and to everyone who purchased a CD this year,” said Jenifer Johnson, the Foodbank’s Vice President of Development. “This gift will provide 23,463 meals to help Idahoans who struggle with hunger. It is truly a gift that will keep giving long after the holidays.”
