With a $7,500 Donation
The Grainger Foundation, Lake Forest, Ill., has donated $7,500 to The Idaho Foodbank in support of its Backpack Program.
“This grant will be used to support the children at risk of hunger who receive backpacks with nutritious, kid-friendly food every school weekend,” said Karen Vauk, the Foodbank’s President and CEO. “We are grateful to The Grainger Foundation for its generosity.”
Vauk said these programs currently serve 2,000 children statewide, children who depend on school breakfasts and lunches during the week but may not have the food they need over weekends.
This donation was recommended by Patie Gossard, Branch Manager of W.W. Grainger, Inc.’s Boise location. Grainger has been a part of the Boise business community for more than 30 years as the leading broad-line supplier of maintenance, repair, and operating products. “We are proud to recommend the programs offered by The Idaho Foodbank,” said Gossard. “We understand the need for free emergency food and especially to assist children for whom Saturday and Sunday can be the longest days of the week.”
