Looking for a unique employee team building activity? Consider a volunteer shift at The Idaho Foodbank. Regular corporate volunteer groups include Ameriben, Boise Cascade and Boise Inc., Boise School District Nutrition Services, Hewlett Packard, Micron and Paksense. Knowing we can rely on these seasoned volunteers is a huge help in planning and packing food for distribution.
In addition to our “regulars” we have many companies that book shifts on an ad hoc basis. Most recently we had a fun and spirited group from Bodybuilding.com. We were delighted when we heard they sent the following message to the rest of their staff:
“The Marketing Team had an amazing opportunity to spend their April Team Building at the Idaho Foodbank where they helped pack corn for families in need. Not only was it a fun way to spend some out of office hours together, it was a great way to give back to the community. The Idaho Foodbank is the hub of all food giving programs in Idaho by fulfilling the needs of all the individual organizations. They are always looking for volunteers and can truly accomplish a lot when a group of people work together. We boxed and labeled about 2,400 cans of corn in one hour!”
Talk about a win-win, the corporation has a great team building exercise and we get tons of food repacked and ready for distribution. Thanks to Bodybuilding.com and all our terrific corporate partners.
