Motorcycle Club Nets $500 From Jackpot Run

The Blue and Gold to Help Those in Need motorcycle group held a fun run to Jackpot, Nev., last week. They had approximately 60 riders attend and collected $500 for The Idaho Foodbank, which was delivered via motorcycles to the Eastern Branch warehouse in Pocatello on May 10.

Fun fact: The motorcycle club has an expletive in it’s actual name, so they call themselves the Blue and Gold to Help Those in Need motorcycle club in the media.

Regardless of what they call themselves, we are very grateful to the club members for thinking of their hungry Idaho neighbors. That $500 will provide 1,500 meals to people who really need the help. Thanks, Blue and Gold.

Ameriben Loses, Then Gives to the Foodbank

During the Ameriben Wellness Committee’s six-week “Weigh to Give Challenge,” every pound lost equaled a dollar to The Idaho Foodbank.  There were also smaller challenges every week to help employees drop pounds. The members who did all the challenges were able to wear jeans for a week, and out of all 37 of those people, one person won a parking spot at work of his or her choice for two months.

Ameriben employees are also regular and enthusiastic volunteers at the Boise warehouse. We are most fortunate to have them as partners in the effort to end hunger in Idaho.
