“Dump Hunger” 2011 Campaign Doubles Goal and Generates 245,751 Pounds for Foodbank

Western States, Albertsons partner to raise more than a million pounds total in two years.

  

 
 

One of the amazing stories to emerge from this year's Dump Hunger campaign came from Cole Valley Christian School. Though there are only 660 students there, they raised a remarkable 18,655 pounds. Some of the students are posed here at the kick-off of the campaign with one of Western States' Cat 730 trucks.

 

Elementary Students in Chubbuck Raise $1,977

The student council of Ellis Elementary School in Chubbuck held a “penny wars” competition to benefit The Idaho Foodbank and raised $1,977.62.  That is enough to feed a family of four for 16 months.
