Here’s proof that everyone can help fight hunger! Students at Ellis Elementary School in Pocatello are doing their part, raising more than $1,000 to help make Idaho hunger free.
Here’s what Student Body President Jaxsen Tuia had to say:
“We did our annual “Penny War” fundraiser for The Idaho Foodbank this year. It was a complete success! We were able to raise around $1,066 for them. We chose to give to The Idaho Foodbank because of what they do for families and students in our school. They help feed those families who are homeless or are just hard up on luck, and we really appreciate the backpack food program as well. If it wasn’t for the foodbank offering food for these students to take home, we have many students in our school who may go hungry over the weekend. This way they can eat! Thank you for everything and we are honored to be able to help such a good cause!”
