This year a group of children from the downtown YMCA day care decided to make a food drive as their holiday project. They brought the Foodbank over 50 pounds of food and drew us some nice pictures!
Fire season is in full swing and it’s affecting a lot of Idahoans. Some of these pallets of mashed potatoes will be on their way to north central Idaho to help families who are losing homes or are displaced.
Brianna and Joseph came by with a donation for The Idaho Foodbank with money they had generated from their summer lemonade stand. “I want to help hungry kids because they can’t afford to buy their own food,” Brianna told us. Their donation of $33.29 was enough to provide over 130 meals!
When you’re hungry and thinking about where you are getting that next meal, it can be hard to concentrate on getting other things done like getting a car running so you can go find work. Last Tuesday we got a call from the Veteran’s Administration from one of the workers asking about getting food for one of their clients, wondering where to send him.
