Volunteer Appreciation Month
April is Volunteer Appreciation Month! Volunteers are the engines that keep food moving to Idahoans who are struggling to make ends meet. In the last fiscal year, The Idaho Foodbank hosted 17,474 volunteers. The hours these volunteers gave are the equivalent of 25 full-time employees!
Idaho Kind Campaign
During the month of March, The Idaho Foodbank encouraged the community to share kindness. Kindness is choosing to do something that helps others. Researchers have found that people who are kind or regularly engage in acts of kindness tend to have higher well-being.

Hunger to Health – March is National Nutrition Month®
March is National Nutrition Month®! This year we joined the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in Celebrating a World of Flavors. The Idaho Foodbank prioritizes the distribution of nutritious food for meals, the promotion of nutrition education and supports making the healthy choice the easy choice.
Innovative Partnerships with University of Idaho
University of Idaho (U of I) students in the Hydroponics club are working with the Lapwai Food Pantry to install a hydroponic green wall. Hydroponics is a method of growing plants without soil.
