Community Partnership Intern(s)

Spring Internship: January 2021- May 2021
120 hours preferred: (3 credit hours) but flexible
Compensation: Unpaid
1-2 positions available depending on credit hours

The Idaho Foodbank (IFB) is looking for an intern for our Community Partnership Department in Boise, Idaho. The ideal person for this position has a passion for fighting hunger locally, is self-motivated, ready to learn, as well as collaborative with the IFB team and the network of 400+ partner feeding programs!


The Community Partnership Intern will work closely with a Community Partner Specialist. After getting oriented to the foodbank, the Intern will help serve as a liaison between IFB and our partner agencies in order to communicate timely info and to respond to agency and community inquiries. Communication with partner agencies will take place predominately by phone, Zoom, and via email. We also look forward to tailoring some responsibilities and experiences to the Intern’s natural strengths and interests (e.g. food distribution events, graphic design, blog writing, training, event prep, etc.)

  • Customer service skills and/or experience
  • Ability to stay organized and multi-task
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be flexible and able to respond to different tasks when needed
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Must be proactive
  • Graphic Design skills a plus

Working Conditions
This work is performed primarily in an office environment while sitting at a computer terminal for extended periods of time. May involve periodic lifting and carrying of items that may weigh up to 50 pounds. May work outside normal working hours and drive own vehicle for various projects on a daily basis.
