Thank You for Giving Hope for the Holidays
The Idaho Foodbank’s 2021 Hope for the Holidays campaign was successful in helping thousands of Idahoans struggling to put food on the table for the holidays. We couldn’t do it without your help. Thank you so much to all the businesses and individuals who donated and volunteered with The Idaho Foodbank and our partners during the holidays.
Martin Luther King Day – A National Day of Service
In January, thousands of people across the United States and Idaho celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. with a National Day of Service by participating in service projects and volunteering at local non-profits.
Holiday Heroes Event in Lewiston
The Idaho Foodbank’s annual Holiday Heroes event in Lewiston is an opportunity for members of the community to make donations and volunteer to provide food for those in need during the holiday season. The culmination of this event was the distribution of boxes of food for holiday meals. The December 21st distribution in Lewiston provided food boxes for nearly 500 families who are struggling to make ends meet.
Pocatello Food Drive
2021 was another great year in Pocatello for the Drive Away Hunger Food Drive. Outside of Fred Meyer, Cole Nissan-Kia and Cole Chevrolet car dealerships had a friendly competition to bring in the most food for The Idaho Foodbank.
In Partnership with Communities
To better understand the needs of communities experiencing hunger, The Idaho Foodbank employed community liaisons through generous grant funding from Feeding America and Micron Technology. Our community liaisons are focused on building partnerships to formulate long-term solutions to hunger in rural Southwest communities, the Native American/Indigenous tribes residing on Idaho’s reservations and Hispanic/Latinx and refugee communities in South Central Idaho.
