The holidays are a time when many of us begin to reflect on the year that is coming to an end, the things for which we are grateful, and what we can do to make our community a better place. Now that November has begun, we are launching The Idaho Foodbank’s “Hope for the Holidays” campaign.
University of Idaho (U of I) and Idaho State University (ISU) are having a Food Fight! For the week leading up to the U of I vs. ISU football game, the two schools will be competing to see who can raise the most funds and provide the most food for their community food pantries.
Chef Magen Fairley is a culinary arts instructor at Lewis and Clark State College (LC State). In addition to her impressive background, she is also a supporter of The Idaho Foodbank. The Idaho Foodbank recently had the opportunity to tour the food pantry at Donnelly Bible Church in Valley County. What an impressive sight! Allison Hatzenbuhler and her fellow volunteers have created a layout for their pantry that mimics a grocery store.
