Nutrition Services Intern(s)
Fall Internship: September 2021- December 2021
120 hours preferred: (3 credit hours) but flexible
1-2 positions available depending on credit hours
The Idaho Foodbank (IFB) is looking for an intern for our Nutrition Services Department in Meridian, Idaho. The ideal person for this position has a passion for fighting hunger locally, is self-motivated, ready to learn, as well as collaborative with the IFB team and the network of 400+ partner feeding programs!
The Nutrition Services Intern will work closely with the Nutrition Services Manager, Nutrition Education Specialist, and Community Liaisons. After getting oriented to the foodbank, including training on Cooking Matters, the Intern will research and assist in the development of a culturally traditional nutrition toolkit for the Latinx community. The Intern will work with the Community Liaisons to collect information from the focus groups and work with the Nutrition Education Specialist to translate that into nutrition education materials for neighbor and partner knowledge. The Intern will also help coordinate and develop culturally traditional food trainings for partners, the statewide nutrition team, and other IFB staff members.

- Background knowledge in nutrition and health
- Graphic design skills a plus
- Ability to work within a team
This work is performed primarily in an office environment while sitting at a computer terminal for extended periods of time. May involve periodic lifting and carrying of items that may weigh up to 50 pounds. May work outside normal working hours and drive own vehicle for various projects on a daily basis.
