May is Older Americans Month – a time when we celebrate those who have given so much to our country and communities. It is impossible to measure the value of everything our seniors do. We do want to take this opportunity to highlight food insecurity among seniors.
News, Updates and Resources
Idaho Gives, traditionally a one-day event designed to bring the state together, raising money and awareness for Idaho nonprofits, has been extended to a week-long effort (April 29-May 6) due to the increased need of support for the nonprofit sector. Every $1 you give can provide food for 5 nutritious meals for Idahoans trying to make ends meet.
April is Volunteer Appreciation Month! The Idaho Foodbank works with more than 29,000 volunteers a year who donate over 70,000 hours of service; enough to fill 33 full-time positions. We couldn’t do our work without our volunteers and our aim is to celebrate the kids, seniors, families, corporations and organizations who give their time and talents year-round.
