Cranksgiving Delivers 44,000 Pounds of Food for Pocatello
Turkeys do not fly, but they do ride on bikes in Pocatello. As part of the 6th annual Cranksgiving celebration, over 150 cyclists delivered turkeys to The Idaho Foodbank’s Eastern branch on November 23. The festive fowl were then loaded on trucks and taken to the Bannock County Fairgrounds where they were added to special Thanksgiving food boxes. Over 44,000 pounds of food was distributed – including 1200 turkeys – to over 4,060 members of the Pocatello community. A special note of gratitude to the 230 volunteers from local businesses, the military and the community who made this one-day event an incredible experience.
