The McVey Entertainment group hosts a Back To School Radio-thon to promote the Backpack and School Pantry programs in North Central. ZROCK, The River, LC Valley News, KOZE and The Canyon Radio station's DJ's talk from the talking points about Children's hunger and how the programs benefit kids. They ask listeners to check out their FACEBOOK page or deliver donations to the radio station. Last year's goal was $5K and they reached $4560. The community loves to hear about what is going on and how they can make a difference.

Be My Neighbor Day

Help Idaho Public Television celebrate community, kindness, and learning at Be My Neighbor Day — a free family event inspired by the values and themes of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood on PBS KIDS. Join us in creating a fun, engaging day for local families and children ages 3–8.

The event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Lapwai High School Gymnasium in Lapwai, Idaho.

Idaho Public Television’s Education Team works alongside families, caregivers, educators, and community organizations across the state to support early learning and help prepare children for success in school and in life.

Be My Neighbor Day

Be My Neighbor Day is a family-friendly event promoting early childhood education, health, safety, and values highlighted on the PBS KIDS series Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood and the public television classic Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Children and parents alike will learn the importance of community-focused kindness and sharing by giving back to the community in which we live. This event is geared toward families and community members, especially for kids in early childhood (ages 3-8).
Enjoy games, hands-on activities, and booths from our partners, and don't forget to gather the whole family together for pictures taken with Daniel Tiger and Katerina Kittycat, the stars of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.
Families will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun, hands-on activities throughout the event, including:
Creating hygiene kits for in-need families in North Idaho communities
