Cooking Matters for Adults – Tuesday starting September 16th – October 21st.

The Idaho Foodbank and North Canyon Medical Center are teaming up to bring Cooking Matters for Adults to Jerome in September. We are tackling food insecurity by providing basic nutrition and cooking skills to the communities we serve.

This 6-week course will be an interactive experience to help neighbors, 16 years and older, learn how to choose and prepare healthy foods on a budget with limited equipment. This fun and informative class will include food preparation, label reading, meal planning, and nutrition tips. Each class will conclude with a nutritious meal that participants and instructors will sit down and enjoy together! All participants who attend at least 5 out of the 6 sessions will be eligible for the grand prize drawing! Spaces are limited, please join us!

The Ada County CROP Hunger Walk invites you to join our walk to celebrate CROP Hunger Walk’s 50th Anniversary--this is Ada County CROP Hunger Walk’s 38th year! CROP Hunger Walks help hunger efforts locally, nationally and globally.

25% of all funds generated from our walk will be designated to the Idaho Foodbank and remain in Idaho to end hunger here.

Walkers enjoy the 3.4 mile route on the greenbelt as well as downtown Boise. We walk 3.4 miles because that is the distance many people in our world have to walk to access water. A one mile route is available for folks who are unable to do the longer walk.

Please join us October 13th to end hunger one step at a time.

Together, we can help end hunger in our community and around the world!

Student Day of Caring

Sponsored by:Twin County United Way

Incorporated in the first day of school activities, more than 250 students are prepared to volunteer at various LC Valley locations for approximately two hours. Our goal is to provide teams of volunteers with meaningful, hands-on projects. Students should have fun and experience the rewards of volunteering, while learning about the important work of your organization.

By providing students with a first-hand look at the services provided in our community, we can raise awareness about local needs and promote volunteerism for students continue throughout the year – and into the future.
