Empty Bowls – Pocatello

Come support The Idaho Foodbank at this year’s Empty Bowls event in Pocatello put on by the Pocatello Arts Council! All proceeds from the event will go towards fighting hunger in our local communities here in East Idaho.On Friday, March 8th from 6-8pm, all are welcome to come join us at Westside Players at 1009 S 2nd Ave in Pocatello to enjoy an evening of great food, great music, a silent auction, and more! For a $25 donation at the door, you’ll get your pick of any single handmade ceramic bowl made by our very own Clay Club here at ISU – the bowl selections are first come, first served so make sure you get there early if you want to have the largest variety to pick from! Along with your bowl, you’ll get free soup, bread, treats, and soda courtesy of Albertsons, Sand Trap, Butterburr’s, and Fixxology, respectively.There will also be a selection of food/drinks provided by some other fantastic local businesses such as Jim Dandy’s, Off the Rails, Glean Coffee, The College Market, and The Grapevine, along with live music from the Reese Thompson Trio.This year’s event is presented by Lookout Credit Union – a long-time supporter and partner of the Idaho Foodbank – and you definitely won’t want to miss it! The Monster Mile and Freaky 5k

The Monster Mile and Freaky 5k are returning to an in-person event and will be sponsored on the Micron campus for the very first time on Saturday, October 29th from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Micron team members will have the opportunity to participate in the run or volunteer to support the event. This spooky occasion will be an opportunity to showcase Micron Recreation Area enhancements to Micron families and the greater Boise community. There will also be collection bins to donate non-perishable foods to The Idaho Foodbank.
The Start/Finish will be within the Recreation Area Parking Lot, with check-in at the Gazebo. The courses themselves will largely be located on the Micron Greenbelt and along the Federal Way sidewalk. Participants are invited to wear costumes, neon or florescent clothing to light up the night!

Saturday, October 22nd, the Grand Teton Council's Boy Scouts will once again be holding their Scouting for Food Drive to help support the Pocatello branch of the Idaho Foodbank. There will be various food drop off locations in the surrounding areas for the Scouts to help collect food. The Ada County CROP Hunger Walk invites you to celebrate by walking together on October 19th. Walkers will sign up online and gather at Julia Davis Park, Shelter # 2 (shelter by the band shell) at 2:30 pm for registration and begin the walk at 3 pm. 25% of funds raised by walking teams will benefit The Idaho Foodbank with the rest supporting Church World Service. You can either participate in a 3.4 mile walk, which represents the average distance people around the world have to walk to have access to clean water, or a 1 mile walk.

Closing the Hunger Gap

Alliance Title is hosting their annual Closing the Hunger Gap campaign during the whole month of October! Select locations in southwest Idaho will be collecting food and funds to support The Idaho Foodbank's hunger relief programs. Alliance Title clients in the Boise area will also have the chance to attend the 5th annual Bowling to End Hunger event at Emerald Lanes on October 26th at 4:30 PM. In order to attend, individuals will be asked for a $50 donation and teams will be asked for a $250 donation. Simply visit their fund drive page and select "Bowling to End Hunger" on the drop-down menu to secure your spot. All proceeds from this campaign will benefit The Idaho Foodbank.

Through Target's mobile app, website and in-store, Target shoppers can enroll in the Target Circle program to earn and cast votes for a selection of 5-6 national and local nonprofits. At the end of each 90-day voting period, each nonprofit will be awarded a grant based on the percent of votes they received. Feeding America is a featured partner in all Target markets for the Q4 campaign.
Feeding America will be featured as a national partner in all Target markets October 1- December 31. Although the campaign will feature Feeding America branding, 100% of the funds raised through the program will benefit the local food bank.
Back to School Radio-Thon

The McVey Entertainment group hosts a Back To School Radio-thon to promote the Backpack and School Pantry programs in North Central. ZROCK and The Canyon Radio station's DJ's talk from the talking points about Children's hunger and how the programs benefit kids. They ask listeners to check out their FACEBOOK page or deliver donations to the radio station. Last year's goal was $2K and they reached $4K. The community loves to hear about what is going on and how they can make a difference.
