Feeding the 5000

The Portneuf Valley Interfaith Fellowship is excited to launch the annual Feeding the 5000 campaign, a heartfelt initiative aimed at combating hunger and strengthening community bonds. This campaign unfolds through a series of events, including a kickoff concert, a progressive dinner, a candlelight vigil, a grocery store food drive, and a closing ceremony, each designed to bring people together in support of those in need.Everyone in the community is welcome to participate in any of the events. Whether through participation, volunteering, or donations, your contribution can make a tangible impact in the lives of many of our local neighbors.Keep an eye out for each of the specific events in the series as they get closer (all events are located in Pocatello)

  • Kickoff Concert – Feb 10th, 7:00pm @ Central Christian Church
  • Progressive Dinner – Mar 9th, 6:00pm @ LDS Church Caldwell Building
  • Candlelight Vigil – Mar 23rd, 7:00pm @ Caldwell Park
  • Grocery Store Food Drive – Mar 30th, 10am-4pm @ Grocery Outlet, Fred Meyer, Ridley’s, and Albertson’s

Student Day of Caring

Incorporated in the first day of school activities, more than 250 students are prepared to volunteer at various LC Valley locations for approximately two hours. Our goal is to provide teams of volunteers with meaningful, hands-on projects. Students should have fun and experience the rewards of volunteering, while learning about the important work of your organization.

By providing students with a first-hand look at the services provided in our community, we can raise awareness about local needs and promote volunteerism for students continue throughout the year – and into the future.

This 1st Annual VolunVino Event combines fundraising and volunteerism. The 1st hour will be used as a volunteer hour. Following the volunteer project, participants will spend the second hour enjoying a 4 course appetizer pairing with wine by an expert chef/wine connoisseur. Tickets are $25.00 per person. Must be 21 or over to participate.

Simplot is hosting their 3rd annual Annual French Fry Day on July 12th from 4 - 7pm. This event is free and held at Celebration Circle on 9th street between the Simplot headquarters and JUMP. Simplot's famous fryer will be pumping out up to 2,000lbs of fries an hour. Attendees are encouraged to bring donations to The Idaho Foodbank. Anyone who donates $15 or more will receive a commemorative "FryIdaho" t-shirt. This event is a kickoff of the Twilight Trifecta with an awards ceremony of the Chrono Kristin Armstrong cycling event.
