Feeding the 5000

The Portneuf Valley Interfaith Fellowship is excited to launch the annual Feeding the 5000 campaign, a heartfelt initiative aimed at combating hunger and strengthening community bonds. This campaign unfolds through a series of events, including a kickoff concert, a progressive dinner, a candlelight vigil, a grocery store food drive, and a closing ceremony, each designed to bring people together in support of those in need.Everyone in the community is welcome to participate in any of the events. Whether through participation, volunteering, or donations, your contribution can make a tangible impact in the lives of many of our local neighbors.Keep an eye out for each of the specific events in the series as they get closer (all events are located in Pocatello)
- Kickoff Concert – Feb 10th, 7:00pm @ Central Christian Church
- Progressive Dinner – Mar 9th, 6:00pm @ LDS Church Caldwell Building
- Candlelight Vigil – Mar 23rd, 7:00pm @ Caldwell Park

There are several drop locations where the public can take food/funds. Including: Joe hall Ford, Inland Cellular, Smart Fitness, P1FCU, Hot Shot Espresso, and The Idaho Foodbank will also be a drop center.

Scouting for Food

The Boy Scouts of America Grand Teton Council will once again be gathering non-perishable food items as part of their "Scouting for Food" drive in Eastern Idaho this October. Bags for food collection will be dropped of beginning Oct 21 with the Scouts collecting those filled bags on Saturday, October 28th. The Grand Teton Council serves 16 counties in Eastern Idaho and is working with The Idaho Foodbank to distribute the food to each troops closest local Food Pantry. George Winston became famous for his best-selling records for the Windham Hill catalog. His Christmas album December which certified triple platinum for sales of over three million. Winston has recorded over fifteen solo piano albums, and is one of the best-known performers playing contemporary instrumental music.
The concert includes a public food drive with CD sales going to benefit The Idaho Foodbank.

The Idaho Foodbank is gathering canned and non-perishable food items to support the families in need throughout eastern Idaho. We're kicking off Kind Week with a street party festival in partnership with Old Town Pocatello for our 3rd annual Kick-Off Celebration. The FREE, family-friendly event will feature live music, entertainment, activities for the entire family, food trucks and our Exhibition in KIND.
