Nourish the American Dream
1 in 6 children in Idaho faces hunger.
For too many children, when school is out, meals disappear. Weekends, holidays, and summer break can bring uncertainty about where their next meal will come from, leaving families to wonder how they’ll put food on the table. This July 4, in honor of America’s 250th anniversary, the Albertsons Companies Foundation’s Nourishing Neighbors program is launching Nourish the American Dream – a bold, nationwide, multi-year movement to help end childhood hunger once and for all.
The Idaho Foodbank is proud to join organizations across the country in this collective effort to help nourish every child’s potential.From July 1–7, The Idaho Foodbank is raising critical funds to support our mission and contribute to Nourish the American Dream’s goal of helping more children access the nutritious food they need to grow, learn, and thrive.
During this campaign, the Albertsons Companies Foundation will match every donation up to $5,000, doubling your impact.
You can support this effort by making a donation to The Idaho Foodbank between July 1–7. You can also round up at the register at your local Albertsons store, and those donations will stay right here in Idaho to help feed Idaho children and families.

Buy a Hero, Be a Hero

To celebrate World Sandwich Day, Subway will be running a digital campaign! All sandwiches will be "heroes" for the week, and the campaign slogan will be "Buy a Hero, Be a Hero". For every online order or order placed via Subway's mobile app, Subway will donate the equivalent of one meal to Feeding America. No restrictions apply, all online orders are applicable. 75% of all funds will be distributed to the local food banks where Subway restaurants are located.

Cranksgiving

Cranksgiving is an event that Barrie's Ski and Sports puts on annually. ICCU is teaming up with Barrie's and has donated $2500 to help with the purchase of turkeys. Their goal is to collect 1000 turkeys. Turkeys and/or monetary donations can be dropped off at any ICCU branch in Pocatello and Chubbuck, Barrie's Ski and Sports or the Idaho Foodbank. On 11/17 at 10:00am Barrie and all others who wish to participate will be riding their bikes from Barrie's store to the Idaho Foodbank to deliver the remainder of the turkeys they have on hand. The turkeys will be counted and weighed then loaded up on the truck and taken directly to the fairgrounds to be handed out during the Thanksgiving Food box distribution starting at 12:30pm
