Whole Grains & Reducing Added Sugar – Meridian

Join The Idaho Foodbank’s Nutrition Education Specialist for a fun learning experience where you will prepare and taste healthy food. This class will also provide some basic nutrition information about adding whole grains into your daily eating plan, as well as some tips and tricks to reduce how much added sugar you eat, without giving up your favorite treats! This free class offers a supportive space for anyone managing a tight food budget. Spaces are limited, sign up using the link below!

Give the Cops a Bird

The Pocatello Police Department has launched its 6th annual “Give the Cops a Bird” turkey drive! All proceeds go directly to the local Idaho Foodbank to help feed the hungry in our community. Frozen turkeys and monetary donations will be accepted through Friday, November 22nd at the Pocatello Police Department.
If you’re interested in making a monetary donation, those can be dropped off at the Pocatello Police Department as well. Please make checks payable to the “Pocatello FOP Union”, and any Venmo donations can be sent to the Pocatello Police Department at @Portneuf-Valley-Lodge with a note specifying that it’s for Give the Cops a Bird.

3rd Annual Idaho Foodbank Music Festival

We are excited to announce the 3rd Annual Idaho Foodbank Music Festival and Fundraiser in Pocatello! The Idaho Foodbank is asking for YOU to do your part to fight hunger in East Idaho. We are pleased to have the Aaron Ball Band headlining alongside Paige Anne from American Idol and local troubadour Layne Bowen Music joining them on stage this year.
The festival will be held at Lookout Point in downtown Pocatello on September 7th. There is a suggested $5 donation for entry, but all are welcome to come! Mark your calendars, open your wallets, and lets make a difference together!

TriState Health powers the day with information from their Nutrition team explaining why children need healthy food to learn. ZROCK, the River and The Canyon Radio station's DJ's talk from the talking points about Children's hunger and how the programs benefit kids in North Central. They ask listeners to check out their FACEBOOK page or deliver donations to the radio station. Goal is to raise $4000.
