Can writers, actors, and directors create 7 short plays in just 24 hours? You bet they can, at the Will Act 4 Food benefit!

Join us for an unforgettable evening of theater on Saturday, June 22nd at 7:30 pm at the Boise Little Theater. Witness the creativity and hilarity that unfolds as playwrights race against the clock, directors scramble to assemble casts, and actors bring the brand new scripts to life.

More than just entertainment, this event fights hunger! Proceeds benefit the Idaho Foodbank, helping families in need across our state.

FREE Heart Healthy Cooking Classes

Sponsored by:St. Joesph Regional Medical Center and the Idaho Foodbank

The cooking series will take place at The Idaho Foodbank's Teaching Kitchen, located at 3331 10th St., Lewiston, Idaho. The classes will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, and Thursday, February 22, 2024, with two sessions each day from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Registration is required and can be done by calling 208.799.5744 or emailing jaclyn.meyers@sjrmc.org.

The following dishes will be demonstrated and sampled:

– Oat Avocado-Berry Breakfast Bars
– White Bean and Quinoa Burgers with Avocado

The Portneuf Valley Interfaith Fellowship is excited to launch the annual Feeding the 5000 campaign, a heartfelt initiative aimed at combating hunger and strengthening community bonds. This campaign unfolds through a series of events, including a kickoff concert, a progressive dinner, a candlelight vigil, a grocery store food drive, and a closing ceremony, each designed to bring people together in support of those in need.

Everyone in the community is welcome to participate in any of the events. Whether through participation, volunteering, or donations, your contribution can make a tangible impact in the lives of many of our local neighbors.

Sportsmen Against Hunger

It's time for the 17th annual Sportsmen Against Hunger event on January 27th and 28th in Pocatello! Come join us at C-A-L Ranch at the Pine Ridge Mall between 10:00am and 4:00pm each day.
Stop by to visit with representatives from a variety of organizations - such as Idaho Fish and Game, NWTF, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Ducks Unlimited, KZBQ, POW/MIA, and more - and to purchase raffle tickets for some fantastic prizes that they've donated to the cause! All proceeds from the event will go to the Idaho Foodbank and be put to work ending hunger in Southeast Idaho.

The McVey Entertainment group hosts a Back To School Radio-thon to promote the Backpack and School Pantry programs in North Central. ZROCK, the River and The Canyon Radio station's DJ's talk from the talking points about children's hunger and how the programs benefit kids. They ask listeners to donate on their FACEBOOK page or deliver donations to the radio station. Last year's goal was $4K and they reached $4,100K. The community loves to hear about what is going on and how they can make a difference.

January tends to be a time when donation decrease after the holidays, making it a critical period to support our North Central- Idaho Food Bank and help meet the ongoing needs within our community! At the Idaho Food Bank, they are able to take $5 and provide food for up to 15 meals! We could visit a local grocery store and buy 3 cans of green beans for that much! They can provide up to 15 meals with a monetary donation of $5 versus 3 cans of green beans?? We are hosting our first FB event for Community Feed Forward from January 14 @midnight to February 14th, noon. Please help us promote, share, invite your friends, family and co-workers to our FB event. Help us fund this amazing community resource!

Stinker Stores will be presenting the Stomp Out Hunger check to The Idaho Foodbank at The Idaho Steelheads game on January 10, 2024. If spectators would like to participate in giving, every $5 received helps us provide food for up to 15 meals to Idahoans experiencing food insecurity.

7 Cares Idaho Shares

7 Cares Idaho Shares is an annual day of giving that started in 2008, put on by Channel 7. KTVB is asking for donations on their broadcasts leading up to the event, and will be reporting live from the donation locations the morning of December 9th. All donations of cash and non-perishable food items will go to help select charities keep their shelves fully stocked and purses full during the winter months when the need for food, shelter, and aid increases. The different charities will be accepting donations at Albertsons and Fred Meyer locations across the Treasure Valley and in Twin Falls. Donations of both food and cash can be taken at all locations.

KPVI's Drive Away Hunger

A popular competition between two KPVI staffers is back this year! This is the seventh annual Drive Away Hunger event. Our very own Matt Davenport and Doug Iverson will be joining Cole Nissan Kia and Cole Chevrolet to collect non-perishable items at Fred Meyer located at 800 Yellowstone Ave in Pocatello on Friday, December 8th from 4 to 6 p.m. Help determine the winner of this friendly competition by swinging into Fred Meyer's and picking up a few extra items to donate to our local Idaho Foodbank warehouse.
