Food Rescue is a partnership with grocers statewide that provides an opportunity for The Idaho Foodbank to quickly distribute nutritious and often perishable food to our neighbors in need, while also preventing unnecessary waste.
Encourage members of your community to give back by hosting a Food Drive. Pick up a barrel and place it, then bring the donated food to The Idaho Foodbank.
The Idaho Foodbank, like most businesses, requires many resources in order to carry out its daily operations. Check out our wish list to see if there are any ways that you can help.
During the hunting season, The Idaho Foodbank gets a number of inquiries about taking wild game meat as food donations.
Sometimes special partnerships yield surprising results. Contact Lynn Dill for more information.
Every year, The Idaho Foodbank collects millions of pounds of food that is distributed through our facilities in Boise, Pocatello, and Lewiston to more than 480 community partners across Idaho. Most of the food is donated – but we do purchase food for certain programs or to fill gaps with nutritious food.
We receive food through community food drives, our food rescue program, growing projects, and from special industry partnerships.
