A legacy gift designating The Idaho Foodbank as your beneficiary will ensure the Foodbank can continue to Feed the Future.
There are many ways to continue your legacy through The Idaho Foodbank. We’ve outlined some of the ways to leave an enduring gift, but we cannot provide tax or legal advice. For that, we suggest consulting with your lawyer, financial advisor, or accountant to determine which charitable giving option best fits your needs.
Ways to Plan
Bequests
Remembering The Idaho Foodbank with a bequest in your will has a lasting impact and is one of the simplest ways to make a planned gift. You can designate a specific amount, a percent of your total estate or a share of the residue after gifts to your heirs. The language you can discuss with your attorney is straightforward:
“I, [your name], of [city, state, zip], give, devise and bequeath to The Idaho Foodbank [specific amount or percentage of your estate or description of property] for its unrestricted use [or you may designate] and purpose to fulfill its mission.”
Gifts of Securities
Contributions of stock or other securities are welcome gifts at The Idaho Foodbank. If you contribute appreciated securities that you have held for one year or more, there are potential capital gains benefits.
Gifts of Retirement Plans
You can name The Idaho Foodbank as the beneficiary of your pension, 401K, IRA or other retirement plans.
Gifts of Life Insurance
When your life insurance was originally purchased, you had a need for the benefits. Perhaps today you no longer need this coverage. To contribute your life insurance policy, simply name The Idaho Foodbank as its owner and beneficiary.
