Harvest Report: Prison Farm

Our farm at the prison continues to come along well. This is what seven acres of Winter Squash looks like. The vines are loaded despite our early setback this spring. We’ve even mixed in some old school Hubbard Squash. Ask your grandparents about these as they were a staple of many root cellars as they will keep upwards of 9 months. The remainder of Squashes out here are Spaghetti and Acorn. The Red Potatoes are sizing up nice, and we’re getting closer to being able to tell you how they taste as these are going to become a Smoked Red Potato Salad.
