Harvest Report: Springing into Season May 8, 2018 / Kevin Johnson / Front Page News, Harvest, News Right now the weather is picture perfect in SW Idaho. The cold temps of winter have given way to beautiful, sunny spring days. Here’s a look at how some of our local crops are faring… These beautiful Black Empress plum trees are loaded and enjoying a healthy spring. These cherries are looking very good. They’re coming on average to above-average for this time of year. Unfortunately much of this year’s apricot crop was devastated by frost. Trees that should have hundreds of pieces of fruit only have a few. Hopefully spring will be nicer to these crops. Peaches are looking good and should be an average crop this year. Here are some bee boxes in the pear orchard. It’s almost time for the bees to get buzzing!
