Health and Nutrition Conferences
At The Idaho Foodbank, our staff are committed to growing and learning so they can better serve the community. That’s why members of our Health and Nutrition team have been attending conferences such as the 2nd Annual Idaho Hispanic/American Indian Healthcare Conference in Pocatello. Our staff learned about strategies for advancing health equity, expanding access to care, and how to address key health issues facing Hispanic and Indigenous neighbors in Idaho.
Another conference we attended was the Idaho Community Health Worker Association’s Annual Learning Collaborative. Foodbank team members learned about chronic disease management, the importance of housing on health and mental well-being, and how community health workers play a vital role in the success of Idaho’s communities. Our team members were also able to share vital resources and the impact that hunger has on health.
