Hope for the Holidays!
As the holiday season begins, many of us think about bringing out our decorations, buying gifts, and planning for our visits with family and friends. But for many of our neighbors, the joy of preparing for the holidays can be dampened by their struggles to make ends meet.
Food is often a central part of holiday celebrations. This may mean continuing the annual tradition of making your family recipe for tamales or stuffing or it can mean starting new traditions with a new recipe for potatoes or cranberry sauce. We want to ensure that all Idahoans, no matter what challenges they are currently facing, are able to have a joyful holiday meal and other nourishing food throughout the holiday season.
November marks the start of our “Hope for the Holidays” campaign, which runs through November and December. The Idaho Foodbank’s goal throughout the duration of the campaign is to provide food for approximately 3.7 million meals. We want everyone, regardless of their current financial situation, to have nutritious meals on the table during the holidays and throughout the year.
There are events happening all over Idaho during our Hope for the Holidays campaign to help ensure all our neighbors have the food they need. This also includes activities that make some of your routine tasks – such as buying groceries, fueling up your car, or shopping for holiday gifts – an opportunity to support The Idaho Foodbank and your community.
