Idaho Falls Spud Kings Game with Idaho National Lab
Last month was INL Night at the Idaho Falls Spud Kings Hockey Game. Idaho National Lab (INL) employees, families and community members gathered at the Mountain America Center for an evening that combined hometown hockey with a fun twist in support of The Idaho Foodbank.
The night began with INL Director John Wagner dropping the ceremonial first puck before the Spud Kings faced off against the Grand Junction RiverHawks. From the first period to the final buzzer, the arena was filled with excitement as the Spud Kings skated to a 5–3 victory, cheered on by a strong showing of INL supporters in the stands.
In addition to the action on the ice, the evening created an opportunity to address food insecurity across eastern Idaho. Players wore custom co-branded INL x Spud Kings jerseys throughout the game. Those jerseys were auctioned off to fans in attendance. The bidding generated enthusiasm around the arena and ultimately raised funds for The Idaho Foodbank to provide food for over 21,000 meals to our neighbors in need!
We appreciate INL, the Idaho Falls Spud Kings organization, and every employee and community member who attended, bid, and cheered that night. Events and partnerships like this are a great reminder that when local organizations come together in support of a shared cause, we can accomplish far more than we ever could alone.
