At The Idaho Foodbank the Food Sourcing team is responsible for identifying and arranging for the transportation of donated and purchased food to be distributed statewide through our community partner network.
Every month, they bring in more than a million pounds of nutritious food. As you can imagine, they stay very busy. That’s especially true for the months leading up to and including the harvest season. During that time Don Brown, our man in the field, can be found working at our farm project with the Idaho Department of Corrections, arranging for a fruit pick up at the LDS orchard in Caldwell, or spending the day working on the line in a valley canning operation. No one knows food better than Don. And he shares his information along with the occasional recipe here, in the Harvest Report.
