Nazarene Care House Grand Opening
Care House Partnerships moved into its new facility for the Care House Food Bank on September 16th, 2024. After serving out of “the little house that could” on the corner of 16th Avenue South and 6th Street South in Nampa for over twenty years, they now serve their community from a 4,500 square foot facility due to the generosity of many donors and corporate sponsors.
The facility is equipped with a 10×20 ft. walk-in freezer, a 20x14ft walk-in refrigerator, a covered drive-thru area, and enough space on a pallet racking system to hold upwards of 50 pallets of food. The Care House serves an average of 290 households each week.
Randy Ford, President and CEO of The Idaho Foodbank, says, “The Nazarene Care House has been a valued community partner of The Idaho Foodbank for many years, and this new facility will allow more of neighbors in Nampa and Canyon County to access the food and resources they need to help end the cycle of food insecurity.”
