North Central Idaho Volunteer Appreciation
The North Central Branch of The Idaho Foodbank wants to recognize Greg and Kersten Eggers for their outstanding volunteer work. After retirement in 2021, this rockstar couple has served over 500 hours with The Idaho Foodbank!
Currently, Greg and Kersten both volunteer at the warehouse for two to three shifts per week. In addition to warehouse shifts, they also volunteer at our mobile pantry distributions and special events. With her sunny disposition, Kersten is an amazing asset for our Development Team as an ambassador for The Idaho Foodbank in the community. Kersten has helped with A Chefs’ Affaire in Lewiston, our Hunger 2 Health conferences, our annual Thank-a-thon, and the Boise A Chefs’ Affaire event.
Greg had a 32-year career as an engineer with Boeing. Since reopening our Choice Pantry at the North Central branch, Greg has given us great feedback on how to streamline the process and how to make the pantry more friendly for our neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet. He has also volunteered as our traffic controller at the Lewiston Mobile Pantry for the past year.
Before retirement, Kersten spent the last 15 years of her working career as an executive assistant with The Boy Scouts of America, serving four counties in western Washington. In addition to The Foodbank, Kersten volunteers with The American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and the Alzheimer’s Walk. Greg volunteered as a Boy Scout committee member attending many Scouting activities including summer camps, canoeing trips, snow cave camping, and numerous hiking trips.
The Eggers have been a wonderful addition to our volunteer team, and we are grateful that they are able to share their time, life experiences, and talents with The Idaho Foodbank!
