Staff Spotlight – Randy Ford

Randy Ford

How has The Idaho Foodbank helped you in your career development?

The Idaho Foodbank has given me a platform to utilize the knowledge I have gained over the past few decades in the for-profit sector, and an understanding of how I can apply these skills to an entirely different business model.  It is greatly rewarding and my coworkers are fantastic (and patient)!

Do you have a favorite quote?

“Experience is what you get when you don’t get what you want.”

If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be?

Bear Grylls – From TV Show to British Special Forces to Summiting Mount Everest…the man has truly had experiences that I have not.

Favorite travel spot?

Petit Lake, Sawtooth National Recreation Area – paddle boarding, fishing, camping, and fresh mountain air!

Before working at The Idaho Foodbank, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

One of my first jobs in high school was making Ice Cream Potatoes for West Side Drive-in during Boise River Festival…I had the joy of rolling 3,500 ice cream potatoes over the course of 4 days…I still won’t eat them.
