Staff Spotlight: Tim Nichols – Marketing Communications Manager, Meridian
Before working at The Idaho Foodbank, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
My first intriguing job in behavioral sciences was working as a road crew traffic flagger. I experienced firsthand how inattentive people can be, often having to jump off the road to avoid danger. In hindsight, this experience has given me valuable insights into how closely people pay attention to their marketing and communication surroundings.
What is your WHY, and why do you work at The Idaho Foodbank?
I spent a significant portion of my career in the for-profit sector, but eventually, I decided to move on from hustling for swoosh brands to reapply those skills and help the broader community.
What game show do you think you have the best chance of winning?
The “Seniors” version of Ninja Warrior.
What team project did you enjoy completing the most? Why?
The DEI project, although just beginning, has given me time to reflect on my personal journey. More importantly, it will provide us with the tools to better meet people where they are, understand how we fit in, and recognize that everyone’s situation is vastly different.

Carrots and tortilla chips with Costco’s Greek Yogurt dip.
