Step Out Against Hunger: Join the Ada County CROP Hunger Walk

On Sunday, October 12, neighbors from across Ada County will gather at Julia Davis Park for the annual CROP Hunger Walk—a community tradition that brings people together to fight hunger both locally and globally. This year’s goal is to bring together 150 walkers and raise $25,000. Funds raised will benefit The Idaho Foodbank and Church World Service to support hunger-relief.

Judy Halverson, who has been part of the Ada County CROP Hunger Walk since the late 1980s, shared why she continues to give her time and energy year after year:

“One of the CROP Walk t-shirts printed the slogan ‘Enough for All’—that is the reason I give my time and efforts to help with the walk. I have enough food, shelter, medical care, and education to live an abundant life with my family. My faith tradition teaches me that I am to share my abundance so that all may have enough. ‘All’ includes my neighbors not only locally but globally, too.”

Registration begins at 2:30 pm at the Agriculture Pavilion, with the walk starting at 3:00 pm. Participants can choose between a 3-mile loop through downtown Boise or a shorter 1-mile route along the Greenbelt.
