Summer Meals for Kids

When school is out for the summer, we know that too many Idaho families struggle because their children will not have access to the free and reduced-price school breakfast and lunch program. Families in need of food during the summer can find summer meal locations for kids, as well as other food pantries that are open near them, on our website.

In North Central Idaho, we wanted to highlight a couple of our partners who are doing additional meals for students during the summer. Orofino schools are providing meals for the whole family through the summer.  They are distributing each Wednesday at the Orofino Elementary School from 11AM to 1PM. They also deliver to several families in the Pierce/Weippe area on the same days. Kamiah School is providing meals to their summer school students, as well as students enrolled in the K-6 Upriver Youth Leadership Council.

We appreciate the hard work of all of our partners to help children and families who are struggling with food insecurity in the summer.
