Tamarack Community Marks Four Years of Impact in Lifting Up Idahoans
Saturday, February 21st marked the fourth year that dedicated homeowners from the Tamarack community have come together with one shared purpose: to raise meaningful funds to help feed Idahoans in need. What began as a simple, heartfelt idea has grown into a powerful tradition – one that has now generated funds to provide food for over one million meals to support hunger relief efforts across the state.
This year’s Lift Up Idaho gathering was made possible through the generosity of Tamarack Resort, Resort CEO Scott Turlington, and Founders Alfredo and Gina Miguel, who donated everything for the evening’s event, along with additional financial contributions. Their generosity combined with the leadership and commitment of donors Dan and Kathy Boespflug inspires the community to make a difference.
The funds raised through this annual effort are directed towards childhood food insecurity. When school is out and cupboards are empty, thousands of children across Idaho face the uncertainty of not knowing where their next meal will come from. Through partnerships with more than 400 community organizations and schools statewide, The Idaho Foodbank works to ensure that kids and families have access to nourishing food.
Childhood hunger has far-reaching consequences. Children experiencing food insecurity are at higher risk of falling behind academically, scoring lower on tests, and experiencing behavioral challenges. By providing consistent access to nutritious food, the community helps give these children the foundation they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
At The Idaho Foodbank, the mission is clear: nourish people today while working toward a hunger free tomorrow. Thanks to the continued generosity of the Tamarack community, more children across Idaho can build brighter futures – futures where they can focus on being kids.
