Every second Saturday in May, letter carriers in more than 10,000 cities and towns across America head out on their routes to collect donations of non-perishable food items as part of the NALC Stamp Out Hunger National Food Drive — the largest one-day food drive in the nation. Led by letter carriers represented by the National Association of Letter Carriers (AFL-CIO), with help from rural letter carriers, other postal employees and other volunteers, the drive has delivered more than 1.82 billion pounds of food to local food banks and food pantries over the past 30 years.

You can help! Simply leave your donation of non-perishable food in a bag near your mailbox on May 9, 2026, and your letter carrier will do the rest. You can also visit one of the post office locations listed below to drop off your donation!
