Working Together for Heart Healthy Meals

Last month, The Idaho Foodbank and St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in North Central Idaho teamed up to teach cooking classes during Heart Month. St. Joseph Regional Medical Center recruited participants for these heart healthy cooking classes. These classes were held at the teaching kitchen at The Idaho Foodbank’s Lewiston facility.

The heart healthy cooking classes were led by Chef Blaine, a local Lewiston chef. The program included healthy eating tips from the Nutritional Services Department of St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

The heart healthy cooking series aims to provide the community with the skills and knowledge they need to make healthy eating choices and prevent heart disease. We know that these kinds of collaborations are key to building healthier communities throughout the state. The Idaho Foodbank also hosts cooking classes and nutrition education through our Cooking Matters® program. You can find out more about it here: https://idahofoodbank.org/cooking-matters-classes/
