Feeding the 5000

The Portneuf Valley Interfaith Fellowship is excited to launch the annual Feeding the 5000 campaign, a heartfelt initiative aimed at combating hunger and strengthening community bonds. This campaign unfolds through a series of events, including a kickoff concert, a progressive dinner, a candlelight vigil, a grocery store food drive, and a closing ceremony, each designed to bring people together in support of those in need.Everyone in the community is welcome to participate in any of the events. Whether through participation, volunteering, or donations, your contribution can make a tangible impact in the lives of many of our local neighbors.Keep an eye out for each of the specific events in the series as they get closer (all events are located in Pocatello)

Drive Away Hunger

Friday, December 16th, “Drive Away Hunger” in partnership with Cole Chevrolet in Pocatello and Smith Chevrolet in Idaho Falls will be happening at local Fred Meyer stores in both Pocatello and Idaho Falls locations. From 4 to 7p, near the front doors of both stores, there will be a Chevy pickup. Participants will be able to leave food donations in the truck, so we can “fill the truck.” All the food goes to the Idaho Foodbank.
Betty the Washer Woman 2017 Calendar

Cucina di Paolo is an Italian restaurant owned by Mary Jean and Paul Wegners. They decided to capitalize on their Betty Washer Woman, a beloved Boise icon, with a 2017 13-month calendar with local businesses sponsoring different months. All proceeds from the $20/calendar less tax and cost of calendar equals out to $12 going to The Idaho Foodbank. The January picture is a mockup of the famous Marilyn Monroe potato sack photo. Each month has a differently themed Betty.

The "Share the Love" Event is entering its 9th year for Subaru of America, Inc. During the Share the Love event, for every new vehicle purchased or leased, Subaru donates $250 to the purchaser's choice of participating charities. Over the past eight years of the event, Subaru and our retailers have made a real impact, donating a total of $65 million to a wide range of both national and local charities. The last three years Subaru retailers have been able to select a Hometown Charity to receive donations, in addition to the national charities, and we look forward continuing the Hometown Charity program this year to help increase the impact Share the Love is making in local communities across the country!

Beginning Monday, November 14, patrons of Subway Restaurants in and around both Boise and Pocatello will have an opportunity to participate in the SUBWAY® Cares program to raise funds for The Idaho Foodbank. At checkout, customers will be able to donate by rounding up to the nearest dollar. All funds will go directly toward The Idaho Foodbank to help feed families in need during the holiday season. The program will conclude Friday, December 16.
Elevate Salon Institute Grand Re-Opening

Elevate Salon Institute is the very first beauty school in the country developed directly with L’Oreal Professional. Elevate Salon Institute has remodel and are re-opening on November 10th. The 10th will be the kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony. ESI will have prizes, snacks raffles and give aways. For Each non perishable item donated, the donor will have a $1 discount on any service. If a customer purchase retail shampoos, conditioners, t-shirts gift cards (cash) ESI will donate 10% of the price to the BackPack Program. If customers want to buy gift cards, they will be able to buy cards in any denomination that never expire and again 10% will go to the Idaho Foodbank.
While the ribbon cutting is at 11:00 on November 10th, we will carry the promotion for the Idaho Foodbank thru November 12th.
