Scouting for Food – Southwest Idaho

Scouting for Food, hosted by Scouting America, is one of Idaho’s largest annual food drives. Volunteers across the Treasure, Magic, and Wood River Valley will pick up food from designated neighborhoods. If you find a door hanger at your house on November 1st, you can leave a donation outside your front door for the Scouts to pick up on November 8th. If you don’t receive a door hanger, you can still donate at one of the drop-off sites listed below.

Want to earn free wristbands for the festival and help The Idaho Foodbank? Volunteer as a server for Mountain Home Country Music Festival! For every hour you contribute, MHCMF will donate $10 (equivalent to 50 meals) to The Idaho Foodbank. Volunteers signing up for 12hrs total (one shift 4hrs per day) receive two 3-day general admission wristbands. Volunteers who sign up for a 4hr shift on a single day will receive one single day general admission wristband for the day they are volunteering. Sign up at the link below.

National French Fry Day - Simplot

Simplot Foods is Hosting their 2nd Annual French Fry Day July 13 from 4PM to 7PM. This event is free and will be held at Celebration Circle at the JUMP (Jack's Urban Meeting Place) on 9th Street and Front St. in downtown Boise next to Simplot headquarters. Simplot's famous fryer will be pumping out up to 2,000 lbs. of fries an hour!
Attendees are encouraged to bring donations to The Idaho Foodbank – anyone who donates $15 or more will receive a commemorative "FryIdaho" t-shirt.
This event is a part of the Twilight Trifecta, which is a kickoff for the 2018 Twilight Criterium. The Chrono Kristin Armstrong Awards Ceremony will be taking place at JUMP at 6 PM.
