Million Meals in March Kick-Off!

The Idaho Foodbank has launched the 8th annual Million Meals in March Corporate Challenge this month. This statewide campaign spreads awareness and raises food and funds for our neighbors in need. The goal is to raise enough support to provide food for one million meals in March!

Donor support of food and funds is always highest in November through December, the holiday season. Unfortunately, hunger in Idaho is not limited to the holidays. Million Meals in March is a way to highlight the need during a time of year when many people do not have food insecurity at the forefront of their mind.

This year, businesses in Southwest and North Central Idaho are participating in this friendly competition by raising funds, hosting food drives, and volunteering for The Idaho Foodbank. Each activity earns points that will help the competing businesses win one of several awards. The scores are tracked on a leaderboard on our website and updated weekly.

During the competition, businesses can participate in three unique challenges. Each challenge encourages team building and can be modified to fit the businesses’ culture. This year’s challenge includes posting updates throughout the month of March on social media sites, building Canstructures (sculptures made of canned food), and sharing stories on why they support The Foodbank.

The presenting sponsor for Million Meals in March is Southern Idaho Honda Dealers, and they are also participating in the competition. We also thank every organization involved and wish them the best of luck in helping us secure enough food for up to one million meals.
