Empty Bowls turns 20 this year!! On the Friday after Thanksgiving, The Idaho Foodbank hosts Empty Bowls in downtown Boise on the Grove Plaza. Throughout the year we collect handcrafted and hand-painted bowls from professional and amateur artisans, students, and studios. The event offers the opportunity to select a unique bowl from thousands and then enjoy a hot bowl of soup generously donated by one of several of our finest local restaurants.
In celebrating 20 years of Empty Bowls our partner Big Al’s – Meridian will sponsor and host our first Empty Bowls Ice Cream Social held Saturday, July 22 from 11AM to 2Pm on their back patio. This is a first-time opportunity offered in July to purchase your Empty Bowl for $10 and receive ice cream with sprinkles/toppings donated by Big Al’s.
