Simplot's "FRYDAHO" is back! This community celebration is a fun, family-friendly, and FREE event to celebrate the things that make Idaho great: Community and French Fries. Come to the JUMP park in downtown Boise on June 12, 2026 for free fries and beef sliders, drinks, music and entertainment.

Competing organizations design and build sculptures made entirely of canned goods. These canned good sculptures provide an engaging way for visitors to learn about the fight against hunger in Idaho and promote the presence and capabilities of various businesses and organizations located in the Treasure Valley. These teams use their creativity, design and construction expertise, and collaboration skills to compete against each other to create awe-inspiring and entertaining structures. After the sculptures are dismantled, all the canned goods will be donated to the Idaho Food bank.

The Idaho Foodbank is hosting our second anual Cantastic Creations at the Boise Towne Square. Local businesses and organizations design and build sculptures made entirely of canned goods. These canned good sculptures provide an engaging way for visitors to learn about the fight against hunger in Idaho and promote the presence of local organizations that are making a difference in the community. The canned structures will be on display June 11th-18th for the public to vote for their favorite. After the sculptures are dismantled, all canned goods are donated to the Idaho Food bank.

Every second Saturday in May, letter carriers in more than 10,000 cities and towns across America head out on their routes to collect donations of non-perishable food items as part of the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive — the largest one-day food drive in the nation. Led by letter carriers represented by the National Association of Letter Carriers (AFL-CIO), with help from rural letter carriers, other postal employees and other volunteers, the drive has delivered more than 1.82 billion pounds of food to hunger relief organizations across the United States in the past 30 years.
You can help! To donate, just place a box or can of non-perishable food next to your mailbox before your letter carrier delivers mail on May 9, 2026. You can also drop off nonperishable food donations at the following United States Post Office locations:
