The Idaho Food Bank Fund announced today that its 2022 grant application process is open between July 1 and July 31, 2022 to Idaho 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that provide nutrition awareness, promote healthy eating or relieve hunger. Funds can be used to operate programs; purchase food; purchase nutrition education materials; expand capacity (new freezers, shelving, transportation, etc); or promote access for anyone in need, including underserved and/or marginalized populations.

Since 2005, the Albertsons Santa Bucks campaign has raised funds for The Idaho Foodbank to provide food for holiday meals to Idahoans who are struggling to make ends meet. This campaign gives customers the opportunity to donate money to The Idaho Foodbank when they are paying for their purchases. “Our customers and hard-working associates show such generosity through these holiday campaigns,” said John Colgrove, Division President at Albertsons Companies Intermountain Division.
Starting in 2005, the Albertsons Turkey Bucks campaign has raised funds for The Idaho Foodbank to provide food for holiday meals to Idahoans in need. This year, the Turkey Bucks campaign resulted in customers and employees at 11 Albertsons stores raising money to provide food for more than 200,000 meals this holiday season. At an event at The Idaho Foodbank warehouse in Meridian, representatives from Albertsons and The Idaho Foodbank spoke about their important partnership to help families struggling to make ends meet.
The Idaho Foodbank is hosting a statewide Back to School campaign for the entire month of September. In an effort to support kids all over Idaho who are experiencing hunger, the campaign will raise funds for the Backpack and School Pantry programs. There will be activities in the Treasure Valley and across Idaho during the month to support children through school-based programs.
