Snake River Elementary School received 40 pounds of oatmeal Thursday, which will feed more than 50 families, thanks to Happy Day Brands and the Idaho Foodbank. The donation is the first of 100,000 servings heading to school pantries across the state.

Your Generosity Bowls Us Over!

The final tally is in for Empty Bowls 2018 is in! Generous sponsors, donors, volunteers and community members came together over the course of a few hours on Black Friday for the 21st Annual Empty Bowls, and amazing things happened. 1,217 Treasure Valley residents attended. 1,799 hand-crafted bowls were purchased. Stinker Stores across Idaho participated in “Stomp out Hunger,” a company-wide campaign created to provide as much help as possible to families in need during the holiday season. The Stinker Stores annual campaign delivered a record-breaking drive for the 7th year in a row.

No Veteran Should Go Hungry

Veterans Day reminds us of our duty to support Americans in uniform who have served our nation. It’s an opportunity to reflect on our veterans’ sacrifices and examine ways we can help them when they return home and re-enter civilian life. As we support them, we can certainly agree that no veteran should go hungry. But, hunger, unfortunately remains a serious concern for veterans in Idaho and across the country.
